FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know as we prepare for your celebration.

1. How much space do you need for your DJ setup? My DJ setup requires a minimum 9 ft × 9 ft flat, solid area. If you’ve booked the Digital Photo Booth, an additional 9 ft × 9 ft area within line of sight of the DJ is required. I’ll review your floor plan ahead of time to help confirm placement.

2. What do you need from the venue for setup? I’ll need venue access at least 2 hours before the event, safe and convenient loading access, and a reliable, dedicated electrical outlet within 30 feet of the DJ setup area. I bring the equipment, extension cords, and cabling needed for my setup.

3. Can you work alongside a live band or musician? Absolutely! I’m happy to work alongside live bands and musicians. Solo performers, such as violinists, harpists, or vocalists, may be able to connect to my sound system with advance coordination. Larger bands should generally provide their own sound equipment. Do you still charge while the band or musician is playing? Yes! I’ll remain onsite and ready to make announcements or jump back into the music when needed, so their performance time is still included in your booked DJ hours.

4. Do you provide wireless microphones for speeches and toasts? Yes! I provide a wireless microphone for speeches, toasts, announcements, and other planned moments throughout your event.

5. What happens if there is an equipment or power issue? I plan ahead for common issues that can happen during an event. For wireless microphone interference or failure, I keep a wired backup microphone on standby. To help prevent power issues, I require a dedicated electrical outlet for my DJ setup. When working alongside a live band or other equipment-heavy vendor, the client and venue should confirm separate electrical circuits and outlets ahead of time to help prevent overloads.

6. How much time do you need for setup and breakdown? I require venue access at least 2 hours before the event for setup and testing, and up to 2 hours after the event for breakdown and load-out. Breakdown may be completed sooner depending on the setup.

7. Do you take song requests during the event? Yes! Guests are welcome to make song requests throughout the event. Requests are considered alongside your music preferences and the overall atmosphere of the event.

8. Can you provide sound for a ceremony in a separate area? Yes! If your ceremony takes place in a separate area from the reception, I can provide a dedicated Ceremony Sound System. It’s designed for a quick setup and breakdown, helping create a smooth transition from your ceremony into cocktail hour and the reception.

9. Do you travel for events? Yes! I’m open to traveling for select events. Travel availability depends on the location, event date, and services needed. I’m happy to discuss the details and see if your event is a good fit.

10. Can you DJ outdoor events? Yes! I’m happy to DJ outdoor events with proper planning. A canopy, umbrella, or other protective covering must be available on-site for the DJ and Photo Booth. It may not always be needed, but weather conditions can change, so it’s important to have one ready just in case.

11. What do you need from me before my event? To reserve your date, I’ll need your signed agreement and deposit. As your event gets closer, I’ll also collect your DJ itinerary, floor plan, Spotify playlist, invitation, and final payment so I have everything needed to prepare for your celebration.

12. When are my planning materials due? To give us plenty of time to prepare, planning materials are due 30 days before your event.
